During this month we focus on raising funds and items to benefit the Surrey HIV Foodbank - you can see the list of requested items when you click here - - -Cash donations made to South Fraser Community Services can recieve a tax receipt - contact me here for further information.

Nov 24th (Tuesday)  

        HIV/AIDS Prevention Presentations – Delivered by Purpose Society, located at the Creekside Detoxification Unit across from Surrey Memorial Hospital.

This presentation offers HIV/AIDS 101 for the clients that are currently receiving service from the unit. This is a closed group presentation.

         Heart of Richmond HIV/AIDS Support Group, time is 7-9pm, located at the H of R office located #200-6411 Buswell st in Richmond.

A safe and welcoming place to interact with others facing similar challenges infected and affected by HIV/AIDS. Please contact Lori at 604-277-5137

      

       Point of Care Testing Promotion- Positive Haven SFCSS (& possibily FH PHN doing the PCT)

 

Nov 25th (Wednesday)

  • ‘Members Lunch’ at Positive Haven Support Lounge for individuals living with HIV and/or Hepatitis C. 12- 2pm  – Contact Sam @ 604-588-9004  
  • Djaef Mahler HIV Food Bank- located at South Fraser Community Services – Positive Haven. Time is 1200- until 4pm, you must be registered prior to picking up your hamper.

Please call Sam or Hesham for an intake appointment.  

  • ‘Energy Therapy sessions’’ located at Purpose Society, 1:00 until 5pm- you can contact Isabella at 604-526-2522
  • Purpose Society Health Van offers harm reduction supplies, education and support services for all.

Location varies, time is Mon 7-10:30pm & Wed 1:30- 4pm – contact Danielle @ cell 562-5170

 

November 26th (Thursday)

  • Lower mainland Purpose Society for Youth and Families -Open House 10 -12 am –address is 40-Begbie street, NW

A community based multi-service organization that delivers a continuum of programs to children, youth and families in the areas

of health, education, childcare, counseling and skill development. HIV/AIDS Hepatitis program and Youth clinic

  • 12- 2pm ‘Mom’s n’ Tots – ‘Snack & Story Time’ – Positive Haven Lounge (SFCSS) this is a safe place for Mom’s and their young

Children who are living with HIV to come together have some fun socializing, making crafts, enjoy snack and ‘story book time’.  

 

November 27th (Friday)

  • 12 - 2pm ‘Kla-how-eya Elders Luncheon – located on the corner of King George and 108ave.
  • 11 - 3pm Community Clinic & Resource Center Purpose – Adult clinic for any health care concerns, including HIV testing, STI  
  • Stride with Purpose for Lunch 1-2pm – Purpose Society for Members that are HIV and Hep C. Come and share a lunch in a safe

 and friendly atmosphere Friendly Friday Treatment information and education session. For Members that would like to come and

 learn of alternative ways for HIV care, information sharing on aspects relating to HIV; medication, social aspect, services, resources,

 etc. – 1:30 – 3:00. Located at Positive Haven Lounge- contact Chuck at 588-9004

  • ‘Haven’s Popcorn, Pizza and Movie night’, for registered Members of the Positive Haven or HIV associates - to come together to share

in a good chuckle/drama movie and dig into some good junk food !

Nov 30th (Monday)

  • 1:30 - 3:30 Positive Haven – SFCSS HIV Support Group- this is a co-ed support group for Members that have pre-registered.

Social support meeting with a guaranteed safe atmosphere. Refreshments and snacks provided. Bus tickets available to assist

with transportation. Contact Hesham or Sam for more information 604-588-9004

  • 7 - 10:30 pm Purpose Society Health Van providing harm reduction and other supplies to assist with prevention and health concerns.
